Due to circumstances outside of my control, the event at The Lonsdale Hotel will not be going ahead. The owners – Oxford Hotels and Inns Management Limited – decided that they would close the venue with no regard to obligations they had already entered into.

On the good side we got all the money people had paid for bookings, back and found a new venue. I have also contacted all of those who had booked and they are either accommodated for now or I am waiting for a final response before I confirm their accommodation rooms.

The night will now go ahead  on 24 November at The Sir Stanley Grey Pub and The Pegwell Bay Hotel. These two places are connected via lifts and tunnels as they are on opposite sides of the road. It is, for those who were there at the beginning, the venue where the Soul Smugglers Inc. started, so it is nice to be back following their extensive refurbishment works, including dance floors.

There will be two rooms – the modern room is running from 8PM till 12 and the Main room from 8 till 2AM. Entrance prices are the same - £5 in advance and £8 on the door. The doors will close at 10PM and no entrance will be allowed after that unless by prior arrangement.

Rooms are available at the Pegwell Bay Hotel and are on offer at the special rate of £70 per room per night for this event only (£35 per person). Rooms can be booked direct with Karen on the front desk and you should mention Soul Smugglers Inc to get the price rate quoted above. Singles are still available for those in the first 100 tickets sold although they are going rapidly I believe there are about 40 left.

The main room also has a large terrace overlooking the sea for smokers to freeze on should they require so they won’t have to trek up the stairs every time they fancy a smoke.

I can only apologise for this at such a late date but I decided it was best to at least try to honour the commitments made by the good folk who had already booked and to keep the show rolling.
